In the world of Recruitment/Sales its so much more compelling to understand our product or customer and instead of selling a "job spec" or piece of software we should tell the story. Fantastic journeys of discovery, scary moments of failure and joyful moments of success - These are what inspire people to buy in to whatever you are presenting, science and technology or not.
Forget the bullet points, forget the job specs, forget the boring facts and sell the wonderful story. 📘
“If only we could tell our stories better,” is a refrain I hear often from people I work with in the science and technology community. And I understand why. In my experience, startup and technical business leaders don’t tell their innovation stories well.
