It seems that over the past few years, companies of all industries have been dipping their toes in the field of Emerging Technologies such as Machine Learning, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. It was reported by The International Data Corporation that cognitive and AI spending will grow to $52.2 billion by 2021, a growth of 46.2% since 2016.
One of the keys to keeping this projection correct is the employment of engineers. From Machine Learning to RPA, engineers in all areas are building out the models that are helping companies move toward the future. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics believes that opportunities for engineers across all fields of emerging technology is expected to grow around 7% by 2026; including and 11% increase for Machine learning engineers by 2024 and around 21,000 new jobs will be created for electrical engineers by 2026.
With so many engineering jobs starting to open up, and unemployment being at its lowest, employers may begin to experience difficulty filling their immediate needs. Luckily for the companies that are experiencing these difficulties, recruitment agencies are always around to help. Although it may be a little frustrating working with a third party at first, when the perfect candidate is placed you will notice it was all worth it :-)
In the near future, it seems, finding the necessary engineering talent to deliver on business goals will continue to be a challenge for many organizations. But, by acting strategically today, companies can start to address this challenge
